Smart locks explained: keys, codes and who gets in
A smart lock does not replace your key. It gives you more ways to open the door, and a record of who did.

Ways to open
The Tixa Smart Lock opens with a fingerprint, a PIN, an RFID card, the app, or a normal mechanical key. Most families settle into fingerprints for everyone who lives there and time-limited PINs for everyone who does not.
Codes for people who visit
Give the house help a code that works on weekdays from eight to one. Give a delivery a code that works once. Give a guest a code for the weekend. When the time is up, the code simply stops working. No key to collect.
What happens when the power goes
The lock runs on its own batteries for months and warns you in the app weeks before they run low. If they do run flat, a power bank at the emergency port opens it, and so does the key.
Fitting it
It mounts on standard wooden and metal doors between 40 and 100 mm thick. Installation takes about an hour and does not change the frame.
